Veda
a label designed by NYU graduate Lyndsey Butler. All of Butler’s designs have an effortlessly cool feel that is difficult to achieve.

Calla
Designer Calla Haynes is a graduate from Parsons School of Design. Her collections was also shown during Toronto Fashion Week. She’s also done a lot of other things in her short design career, including print work for various designers and stints at Rochas and Nina Ricci under Theyskens. She designs delicate, print-heavy pretty things.

Haus Alkire
Haus Alkire is a brand new designer line that Julie Haus, who already has her own contemporary label, launched with her husband Jason Alkire, with whom she has been collaborating for a while on prints. For Haus Alkire, the fabrics are more luxe and the prints often hand-painted.

Tim Coppens
Another Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation winner, Belgian-born menswear designer Tim Coppens is definitely one to watch. He’s had previous stints at Bogner, Adidas and Ralph Lauren’s RLX. His designs are fresh, innovative, sophisticated and a bit utilitarian.

Brood
Serkan Sarier is another one of those designers whose fashion industry rise has been quick. He’s worked at Emanuel Ungaro, Giambattista Valli and Haider Ackermann; Sally Singer, Vera Wang, Zac Posen, and Mario Grauso attended his first presentation and Barneys picked up his first collection. His clothes are beautiful, intricate, a bit sporty and somewhat otherworldly.

The marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton is not always filled with romantic as the a lot of news going on saying that they have been fighting a lot due to Kate’s jealousy and possessiveness towards William’s attitude. Kate told her friends of how sad she is that William couldn’t take benefit of his position as a future king to take a break for a vacation with her which caused her to cry a lot because it seems William doesn’t want to spend time close with her. The duchess of Cambridge claimed that she can’t be far away from William and wants to be with him 24hours daily which annoyed him and enjoys being away from his wife. Kate realizes she has been possessive even since they were still a couple which made William broke her up.

Recently Kate was seen having vacation with her family into Caribbean island and seems unhappy because William was not there due to his work.

Harper’s Bazaar was sued by their intern, Xuedan Wang who worked from august 2010 to December 2011 for 40-50 hours per week. Wang filed a lawsuit against Hearst ( the fashion glossy’s publisher ) for violating state and federal wage and hour laws by not paying her when she was doing the work of a paid employee. A worker of Above The Lawsuit said as long as the intern received school credit, internship is considered legal, and however Wang had already graduated and worked full time doing. Her job was to do fairly menial tasks like coordinating pickups, deliveries and maintaining records (and ordering around more low-level interns to do even more menial things). It is still a question mark, why she was allowed to intern at Harper’s Bazaar full-time before she was graduated without school credit, while on Hearst publication says that all interns have to be able to receive school credit and submit a letter from their school to Harper’s Bazaar which means Wang’s internship must be under the table.

We’ve seen all the still shots from his H&M bodywear campaign, and word hit the streets a few weeks ago that a David Beckham for H&M commercial would be invading our TVs during the Super Bowl this Sunday. The guys have a few Adriana Lima commercials to drool over–this is infinitely better. Watch as David broods, flexes, and generally smolders, he is nearly naked!

Marc Jacobs talks on how and why he’s physically changed, though the designer shed his indie-grunge image several years ago.

On happiness: ”I don’t know what the key to happiness is. Happy is just a feeling like every other feeling. I certainly feel happy some days and in general I am pretty happy, but I have all the other feelings as well.”

On success and constant flattery:“Well, I just do my job. I’m not really distracted by it. Nice things are very nice to hear and it is flattering when one is given some kind of recognition, but none of that distracts me from what my job is … And honestly, no matter how flattering or even un-flattering something is, it doesn’t prevent me from getting up and going to work and doing what I love to do.”

On changing his lifestyle: ”I did it for health reasons. I was really very weak. I had been working very hard and I had some stomach problems, so I saw a nutritionist and he recommended that I go to the gym and change my diet and all of that.”

On how he relates to his customers: ”It’s funny: I enjoy clothing more, I enjoy getting my haircut, I enjoy grooming. In a way it kind of helped me to understand more of what the customer sees in terms of fashion. I got to appreciate it more from a first hand point of view. I like to shop, for example, which I never did before.”

On how he relates to women: ”I feel much more secure with my body and in some ways I can relate more to the joys a woman gets in terms of taking care of herself.”

On his morning routine: “Now I get up early in the morning and I really enjoy getting dressed and putting lotions on my skin and getting manicures— all those things. It’s a joy, it is really nice. You know, it used to take me five minutes to get in and out of the bathroom. I would get in the shower, get out of the shower and put on the same clothes every day and I didn’t care.”

National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2012 Job Outlook study surveyed almost 1,000 employers on their future hiring plans. Many areas of study, such as fashion design and the performing arts, didn’t even make the list. While majors like business had 83 percent of the surveyed employers saying they planned to recruit them. Another studies were accounting and computer and information science majors with nearly 60 percent of surveyed employers planning to recruit them.
